Looks great, will Herons be getting a makeover?
Hi Cheryl,
Yes! We don’t have dates or details yet but we will keep you posted as soon as we know more! 🙂
Any chance of getting a punch bag (real one) ?
Hi Scott,
Good news! We have one on order! We don’t have a delivery date yet but we will announce it as soon as we know! 🙂
Is Herons taking over the Herne Bay Council offices to extend facilities??
Hi John,
We have no plans to at the moment!
Nice new look at Kingsway gym. But why the climbing frame? Bikes have been updated but the interactive computer screen requires internet which is not there. What about updating the men’s changing/shower room? A good start anyway.
Hi Frank!
We have introduced the new fitness rig at Kingsmead which provides functional and versatile training for all. If you would like to know how this equipment can be used, please chat to our gym team or book a programme review or induction with a member of the team who will be happy to show you how to use the new kit. We now have internet in the gym which will make all the machines connected. We have had a few teething problems with this but have some work being carried out soon to solve the issues. We hope that we will be able to have all machines fully connected by the end of next week. Although we have no immediate plans for the changing facilities, we are always looking to improve our facilities where possible. Thanks for your feedback 🙂
Wifi wouldn’t go a miss in the gyms. Especially when streaming music whilst working out
Hi Dean,
WiFi has been introduced at Kingsmead in the gym! 🙂
Has it. I asked at reception today and there answer was wifi is not for general public !
Hi Simon,
We can assure you that WiFi is now available at Kingsmead for anyone using the Gym.
Please speak to a member of the gym floor team who will be happy to assist in getting you connected while you work out 🙂
When do we get these facilities at whitstable as the people here are being let down.
Hi June,
Not for the immediate future but we are always discussing and exploring ways to improve our service and facilities. Please keep following our social media pages and news page for updates on upcoming improvements.
Really love the new gym, although the whole centre has always had a lovely ” family ” feel to it for me. Now if you could just keep the temperature in the ” village ” changing rooms down so we can actually get dry, it would be perfect!!
Hi Kathy,
Thanks for the great feedback and we are so happy to hear how much you love the new gym and Kingsmead Leisure Centre. The Changing Village is slightly warmer than our other changing areas due to it being part of the wetside facilities for pool users, so for their comfort the air in the pool and changing village is a little warmer than the rest of the centre. Of course, everyone is welcome to use the changing rooms, but you will find that the dryside changing facilities are a slightly cooler temperature!
Now that I am getting used to the new equipment I have a few more technical questions/observations.
I don’t know if Life Fitness ever produced a user manual/idiots guide to buy or download but it would have been helpful to the users.
The only way that I have found to connect my lFconnect app on my phone to the equipment is via bluetooth. However some of the pieces of equipment seem to have bluetooth disabled (some treadmills and some cross-trainers). It would be good to have it enabled on all.
The TV channels available varies between pieces of equipment. Some have a maximum of 4 channels and others many 10’s of channels. All the ones I’ve tried have RT news which appears to be a Russian propaganda station – which I find a bit strange!
Generally things have gone well and staff have been as helpful as they could be. Well done. I understand that installation/tecnical staff are due back in so it would be good if they could sort out the above.
Best wishes Philip Wells
Hi Philip,
Thanks for this great feedback! I have passed your message on to our General Manager at Kingsmead so that the items raised can be investigated and corrected where possible. There are different ways of getting the manuals for each machine, so we have made sure that all gym staff are aware of how these can be obtained so that you can ask whoever is on shift for more information. Thanks for taking the time to send us your feedback today, it’s really useful for us to know where we can improve our service!
Kind Regards,
Sophie

How much is it monthly for a gym membership and do they still do the £5 every time you got here for the kids? And is it still only between 3pm and 5pm?
