On Saturday 18th March Whitstable parkrun received great support from our friends at the Active Life Triathlon Club. Led by member Sara Bushby, the enthusiastic Triathlon Club team selflessly volunteered their time to support this great sporting initiative in our local community, serving as safety marshals, race pacers and runner/participant motivators.

They waved the (literal) flag for the Tri Club perfectly, handed out flyers to parkrun participants and generated a fantastic buzz for the sport of Triathlon, which so often doesn’t get the recognition it deserves! You can find the race report from Whitstable parkrun here for more information about the great work from the Tri Club team last weekend.

Spokesman Darren Hillier said “We meet about 5 times a week for running, swimming and indoor cycling, as well as arranging outdoor cycle rides as and when we can. There are two dedicated sessions at Herons Leisure Centre over Saturday and Sunday which are well attended by club members where we work on swim technique with a dedicated Triathlon coach. You don’t have to be particularly good or fast to join us, just keen to come along and do your best!”

They’re a lovely bunch and will be happy to answer any questions you have!
