The event is perfect for the novice / first timer but will challenge even those eager to be on the leader board. Whatever your previous experiences you’ll have a fantastic day tackling amazing obstacles, with great music and support all the way to the finish line – finishing with a well deserved drink in our spectator friendly event village.

About Us

Something For Everyone!

One of the most exciting elements of Urban Warrior is that you won’t know what the obstacles and challenges are until you get here. We’ll keep this as our closely guarded secret! However, what we can tell you is that there will be over 20 different, smile inducing, obstacles across 2000 square metres of indoor space. Each year the obstacles will be different with a twist on the year before, allowing you to get your fix year after year.

We don’t want to spoil it for you but expect to climb, throw, drag, jump, lift, swing, crawl, carry, pull and more. There will be obstacle favorites but we won’t tell you which ones.

Does the idea of taking part in a secret mission as fast as you can, without being caked in mud, have you searching for the enter button? Well what are you waiting for!

Adult (16+): £35.00

Group Discount:

For anyone signing up as a team of 5 or more you each get a 15% discount off your registration fee! Each team member will need to register, or get a friend to register and pay for them. As soon as your team reaches 5 people or more, the 15% discount will automatically be refunded to each team member. Any new team members that register after this will automatically receive their 15% discount at registration.

What time is the event?

On sign up, you can select which ‘wave’ you would like to participate in. The competitive waves are for those that are hoping to challenge for the fastest time in their category (age, gender, team, etc):

09:30 – 10:30 Competitive Waves
10:30 – 14:00 Fun Waves

Individuals will go off in waves of 5 people every 6 minutes. We will send you your precise wave time 10 days before the event.

What is the benefit of being part of a team?

Urban Warrior is the perfect event to enter as part of a team. You could be a team made up of 5 mates from down the pub, a local sports club looking for some pre-season training with a difference, a fitness group looking for their next challenge or even the whole office having the ultimate team building experience!

Individuals and teams get the same experience apart from:

Price

The price is the same for an individual and for each of up to 4 members of the same team. Teams with 5 people or more will receive a 15% discount for all team members with the discount refunded to each team members on the card they used to register.

Before a new team member registers they will need to obtain the team name and the starting wave from their other team members to ensure they join the right team.

Team Waves

Team members will start in the same wave*. If a team of 5 members, the whole team will go off together. If more than 5 members in the team they will go off in back to back waves as separate groups. For example, if a team of 9, one wave will have 5 of you and the other 4 will go in the next wave, six minutes later.

Results

Team members will be able to search for their team mates in the online results either by searching for individual names or by searching under the team name and all their team members results will be displayed.

*We cannot guarantee that team members registering after the 29th July will be able to join the same wave as their other team mates.

What are the age restrictions for the race?

These events are aimed at adults, from complete beginners to regular OCR participants. The minimum age for participants is 16 on the 11th August 2019

Do we get a medal?

Everyone who completes their race will receive a special Urban Warrior finishers medal. We’re talking “i’d enter just for the medal” special!!

Can I skip any obstacles?

Of course! We want everyone to enjoy the day, so if you really can’t complete one of the obstacles then you can bypass it and move onto the next. If you do skip an obstacle you will receive time added on to your overall time, but we don’t expect many of you will want to skip the obstacles, they will be challenging enough to make it tough but not so challenging that you won’t even be able to attempt it!

What facilities are there on site?

There is parking for around 200 cars with an overflow on the nearby school site.

There is a warm up hall inside the facility for anyone wishing to use the space to get warrior ready.

There are lockers, toilets, showers and changing rooms if you needed to use them.

The site has bleacher seating, making viewing of the event for family and friends really easy.

What do I need to bring?

Whether you’re a seasoned event warrior or a complete beginner, it’s always useful to have a checklist to ensure you’ve packed everything.

Here’s our list of essentials, but be sure to add your own!

• Your race clothes: leggings/shorts, t-shirt/technical running tee (if you have one – either long or short sleeves), socks, trainers. You are welcome to wear fancy dress but please avoid any loose fitting clothing.
• Water bottle: stay hydrated! There are water fountains around the site and refreshments available in our event village.
• Cash: for spending at the event village. Lockers are available but please avoid bringing valuables with you.
• Deodorant: you will be starting off in small groups, so they may appreciate it!
• Medication (if required): don’t forget your inhaler if you need one!
• Your sense of adventure!

What you won’t need?

• Bin bags: for your wet, muddy clothing to take home!(as you won’t be getting muddy!)

• Safety pins, your race number will be transferred directly onto your body as safety pins and race numbers always seem to get in the way!

• A change of clothes and footwear: as you won’t be getting wet and muddy!
• A new towel: You are welcome to have a shower after the event but you won’t need to buy a new one due to it being caked in mud.
• Anything to clean the mud off before you get home!

Who are the Urban Warrior organisers?

Urban Attack have a wealth of experience, years of expertise, outstanding obstacles and a great events team. They have helped organise events from across the UK and Ireland as well as internationally. Urban Attack is led by ex-SAS celebrity TV Trainer Rob Edmond, so as you would expect most things Urban Attack touches are quite special.

Active Life is led by Giles Seaford who has nearly 20 years of experience organising mass participation events from triathlons, 5k and 10k’s, open water swims as well as community events such as the London 2012 Torch Relay. He’s overseen tens of thousands of participants over the years at events that he has led on. He’s also taken part in events like Toughest and the Dirty Dozen that have developed an appetite for OCR.

I like the fact that it’s a lot more fast-paced. I like the fact it caters to the spectator as well. Sometimes it gets a bit lonely on an obstacle race, and you don’t see anyone for a while, whereas here, the atmosphere, the music, the pre-race and all those things makes for a better event.
