General Notes & Guidelines
- We are happy to change all children's nappies.
- We expect all children who wear nappies to have their nappies and wipes available to us.
- Kingsmead have bottle warming facilities in the Crèche.
- If you think your child may need a sleep - please provide a pushchair.
- If there are any problems whilst the child is in the Crèche, we will contact you either in person or sometimes via a tannoy announcement at Kingsmead. please ensure that you respond to this.
- At Kingsmead, we are happy to change your children for swimming if you are already in the pool. If there are enough staff, we are also able to bring children to the pool on request.
- We are unable to change children for swimming under any other circumstances.
- Unless your child needs his/her pushchair, do not leave it in/or near crèche. Kingsmead provides a buggy bank for this purpose.
- Do not leave your personal belongings, valuables or medication in the crèche. Please use lockers provided.
- We adhere to the legislation regarding the specific ratio of staff to children, depending on age and individual needs.
Illnesses
If your child is suffering from chicken pox, he/she is not allowed in the crèche for 5 days after spots or spots heal over. All contagious diseases such as conjunctivitis must be completely healed before the child returns to the crèche.
If there are any cases of headlice - you will be informed as soon as possible. Please treat promptly.
When your child first visits the crèche, you will be asked to fill out a record card and provide their details. Please mention any medical problems, past or present, on this card.
Rules
- The crèche is only available to Kingsmead/Pier centre users. You must not leave the building.
- Children 5 and over are not permitted.
- If you book for the 1st hour, you are expected to pick your child up at 11am (or before) If your child is booked in for the 2nd (or both) hours, you will be expected to pick your child up at 12noon or before. Failure to do so may result in a fine.
- If your child has been ill in the past 24hrs your child is not permitted to use the crèche. Please do not bring in any medication to the centre.
