Class Descriptions

ABS, CORE & MORE (14+)

An intensive abdominal workout focusing on creating a trim, toned waistline and a strong, healthy back.

ACTIVE FOR LIFE

Simple, but effective workouts that improve general fitness levels and makes everyday activities easier to complete. Ideal for anyone experiencing weight, cardiac, blood pressure, diabetic or musculoskeletal problems. An induction is required before participation in these classes.

BODY COMBAT (16+)

An empowering and athletic workout combining powerhouse moves and stances from a range of self defence disciplines. An induction class is recommended before participation in this class.

BODY PUMP (16+)

A non impact workout using barbells and adjustable weights to music.  Claims to be the fastest way to get into shape. An induction class is recommended before participation in this class.

BODY JAM (16+)

Fun, easy to follow dance workout.  Improves cardio fitness and is a great fat burner…..the fun way.

B.L.T (BUMS, LEGS & TUMS) (14+)

A workout designed to zoom in on those problem areas using a variety of equipment.

FIGHT KLUB (16+)

Cardiovascular circuits with some basic boxer moves.  All abilities welcome.

CHI BALL (16+)

An invigorating and relaxing workout using an aromatherapy ball.  Includes moves from Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Feldenkrais and deep relaxation.

FITNESS BALLET (16+)

This class aims to strike the balance between providing a cardio workout, building strength and flexibility whilst helping participants de-stress. Rather than bulking muscle Fitness Ballet lengthens, tones and defines physique.

FITNESS YOGA (16+)

A fitness class offering yoga principles for balance, flexibility and core stability, along with relaxation training.

GENTLE PILATES (16+)

Aimed at non exercisers as a start to exercise, those returning to exercise after illness, injuries and to more mature members this very gentle  basic mat work class offers a slow way to regain strength, flexibility and core stability.

GENTLE WORKOUT

A fun workout for our more mature users or those who have not exercised for a while.

GROUP CYCLE (14+)

Must be able to fit on equipment, please ask a gym instructor if unsure.
45 minute class on exercise bikes in the cycle studio.  Excellent calorie burner targeting legs and bums. Designed for all levels of ability.

HI/LO WORKOUT (14+)

A challenging mixed impact aerobic workout.  General toning and stretching to finish.

MODERN YOGA (14+)

Bringing together a fusion of yoga teachings this session is an exploratory and in-depth yoga class developing strength, stamina and flexibility. The emphasis will be on helping individual practice and posture.

MONSTER WORKOUT (14+)

Bootcamp-style circuit class designed to improve coordination, stamina, strength and endurance.

PILATES (14+)

A basic mat-work class for all to give you long lean muscles, a better posture, a healthy back and a calm mind.

PRE/POST NATAL AQUA

Exercise during pregnancy is safe as long as it is not excessive.  Aqua Natal is ideal as it is non weight bearing and keeps your body temperature at a safe level.

STEP FOR ALL / STEP IT UP (14+)

Bench stepping with choreography. A great workout for legs and bums. Step For All is suitable for all abilities. while Step It Up consists of more complex choreography and requires participants to have some basic step skills.

TAI CHI (14+)

Standing and slow moving meditative exercises aimed at moving your life energy  or ‘Chi’ around. Improves balance, strength, suppleness and breathing whilst introducing self defence applications when performed fast.

VINYASA YOGA (14+)

A flowing, dynamic, aerobic form of yoga. This class will explore advanced postures, such as inversions. Unsuitable for beginners, this class is suited to those with yoga experience who want to improve their  strength and stamina.

WATER FITNESS (14+)

Shallow Aqua is a low impact class in the shallow end of the pool. Excellent for full body conditioning. Deep aqua classes take place at the deep end of the pool where you are suspended by buoyancy belts to improve total body strength and tone.

YOGA FOR ALL (14+)

Simple but effective movements and postures that gently stretch and massage the body. Great for toning and flexibility.
